I'm Gonna Be a Star

Ok, maybe not, but I'll have fun at least.

I signed up for my first set of classes at The Second City. Improvisation Level A. Here's what they say about the class:

Explore the fundamentals of improvisation in this popular program for those
with little or no acting or improvisation experience. It's a great way to
explore your creativity, hone presentation skills, become more comfortable
speaking in front of others, think on your feet quicker and expand team building
skills; all while having fun once a week.

I'll get to meet some fun people (hopefully) and learn something new while I'm at it. I'm really excited. I just love improv and I'm excited to get started. I have an orientation class on Sunday, August 3rd, then my classes begin on August 7th for eight weeks.

Have you ever taken an acting class, comedy or improv class?

i live in LA and can tell you that you will meet one or two really funny, down-to-earth, rational people and the rest will be plain CRAZY!

i have ALWAYS wanted to take an improv class, and Second City classes are uber-impressive!

I did a lot of theater when i was a teenager, so when i was looking to take a class in something new, I started a hip-hop dance class at which we learn a new routine very session. I'm still a bad dancer - but now it's at least organized chaos!

Never. Never, ever, ever in a million years would I sign up for an acting or improv class! Standing up in front of people and *speaking*? Oh hell no!

But boy do I think it's great that you're trying it out! Have fun, keep us posted : )

YOU are one of the funniest - thinking on her feet - kinda girls I know. I would LOVE to see you in action on the improv. Bravo, Brave Gayle!

I'm really due for a visit to my friend Kimmer Kisses in Chicago - maybe you'll be on stage and I can say "I totally know her!"

Sometime after the marathon - maybe early spring I'll wander that way . . . !!!
